Mission

The Santa Cruz Training and Facilities Foundation will focus on hunting, firearm safety, local natural habit conservation and physical outdoor activities. These activities will have a positive influence on our community and the community’s members.

Hunter safety programs starting at the age of 10 and provide youth hunters physical exercise, the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and the healthy respect of laws required by firearm ownership.

The Santa Cruz Training and Facilities Foundation committee members will be devoting their volunteer hours, until such a time as a shooting sports range is engaged, based approximately on forty percent fundraising, twenty percent community education, twenty percent habitat rehabilitation, ten percent identifying organizations and ten percent directing and overseeing funds to said organizations.

The Facility envisioned by the Santa Cruz Training and Facilities Foundation will alleviate the damage done to the local native habitat caused by illegal target shooting. The Santa Cruz Training and Facilities Foundation will organize and participate in the remediation of these “wildcat” shooting areas.

The Santa Cruz Training and Facilities Foundation will provide outreach to the community, educating on the damage done to the local habitat and the need for proper organized target shooting.

Past grants directed by the members of this committee have had a constructive impact on the local community. Grants will continue to be given out to organizations that fulfill our goals and mission.

Past grants directed by committee members include, Jr ROTC at Sahuarita High School for their Air Rifle club, a top 10 program in the country. Walden Grove High School Law and Public Safety Program, one of two schools in the nation to have a MILO interactive firearms training system. The Santa Cruz Training and Facilities Foundation will continue to support these programs.

The Santa Cruz Training and Facilities Foundation will have a positive impact on the commerce of the local community through the annual banquet and the training and competition programs offered at the facility.

The Santa Cruz Training and Facilities Foundation has letters of support from the Arizona Game and Fish, USA Shooting, Sahuarita Police Department, Tucson Sector Border Patrol, Safari Club International, Arizona Citizens Defense League, and has received positive feedback from the local community.
